Weekly Golf Results 2024

News:

Monday 22nd April

This Monday we had a fun day - drop out Ambrose on the front nine. There was a very heavy dew but a beautiful blue sky day out on a great course.

Three teams results

1st Team-Angie Wood, Trish Warby, Gloria Clarke and Jan Horneman

From now on it will be a 9.00 am start as the frosts will hit.

Wednesday 24th April

Just a reminder that as of THIS Wednesday our start time is 9.30 am for the 18 holers. NOT the time on the booking sheet!

Saturday 27th April

Keeping up her good standard, Brooke Rose was the Stableford winner with 31 on a triple c/b from Janelle Holdsworth & Jacqui Woodward, all three winning balls.

Robyn Kilkelly had her name on the NTP on the 18th (First time for ages, was her comment) & late in the afternoon she received an ‘apology ‘ from Tammy Edmonds to say she had beaten her ..... admittedly by a fair distance. One week we will make Tammy play early & someone can pip her, just a bit of revenge.

Women's & Junior Clinics

  • On Sunday, the ‘Juniors On The Move’ Event was held at the Bega Country Club with junior golfers from as far as Wagga Wagga attending. The event was broken into nine holes for the more experienced juniors and five holes for the juniors starting out in the sport. Luke Grinham a professional from the Jack Newton Junior Golf Association has been co-ordinating with Wendy Hergenhan , Women’s Captain, to stage the event. See pictures on our Junior Page.

Rule of the Week

Provisional Ball

18.3b
Announcing Play of Provisional Ball

Before the stroke is made, the player must announce to someone that they are going to play a provisional ball:

  • It is not enough for the player only to say that they are playing another ball or are playing again.
  • The player must use the word “provisional” or otherwise clearly indicate that they are playing the ball provisionally under Rule 18.3.

If the player does not announce to someone (even if they intended to play a provisional ball) and plays a ball from where the previous stroke was made, that ball is the player’s ball in play under penalty of stroke and distance (see Rule 18.1). But if there is no one nearby to hear the player’s announcement, the player may play the provisional ball and then inform someone of their actions when possible to do so.
