Autumn 2026
Course Maintenance and Improvements Update
Autumn Course Conditions
With the arrival of Autumn, we have experienced windy and dry weather. Despite these challenging conditions, the course remains in excellent shape. We are hopeful for some follow-up rain to further support the grounds. The Greens staff are putting in a solid effort to maintain the fairways and greens, ensuring they're in top condition for play. The wind has caused some damage to our older trees, bringing them down in various areas around the course. Thanks to the assistance of dedicated volunteers, much of the foliage has been cleared, allowing access around the larger trunks. Trees that were obstructing play have been fully removed.
Creek Improvements
Work on the first hole creek is nearly complete. The steep banks have been reshaped to provide a more accessible and friendly contour, allowing the green staff easier access for mowing and improving the approach to the green.
Fairway Watering Extension
The extension of fairway watering to 150 metres from the greens has been a timely project, enabling a much larger area to be watered automatically. This year, work will continue on the remaining approaches across the other holes.
Recent Maintenance Activities
- Drainage on the 15th hole has been successfully completed, and plant regrowth is progressing well.
- The greens have recently undergone aeration (verti-draining) and fertilisation, preparing them for the winter season.
- Drain clearance and ongoing maintenance are continuing.
- The bridge on the 3rd hole has been replaced, offering improved access over the creek from both the 2nd and 3rd holes.
- Removal of fallen trees is ongoing.
- Rebuilding and regrowth on the nursery green has commenced.
Course Standards and Player Contributions
Overall, the course is in excellent condition. With your help in repairing pitch marks on the greens, replacing your divots on the fairways and rough, and filling any divots you come across, we can continue to maintain the best course on the South Coast.
Thanks to the club member volunteers who have also given their time to help with the maintenance of our course.
